Gene Yang in New York Times

Gene Yang intersects with my icon painting life in that my teacher, Charles and I usually have a relatively lengthy conversation about him about once a quarter. Gene came to the icon prayer retreat, Contemplating the Incarnation, that Charles and I put on a few years back. Gene proceeded to give him all the comics he had printed to date. Charles loves the monkey king. And, Gene is Roman Catholic. Needless to say, Charles is a big fan.

New York Times is currently running a comic strip by Gene in the funny pages for six weeks beginning the week of November 11. Woohoo!
